NGAC & a Vision for the Community

Picture

There is tremendous interest in gardening and the arts within the Sacramento and Natomas communities. The NGAC constantly receives requests to participate in and lead gardening demonstrations, sales and art events. We would be able to better serve our communities with a Center from which to host and participate in these activities. The location chosen for the NGAC Center is the former South Natomas Fire Station #15 on 1591 Newborough Drive.

The Sacramento City Council approved funding for the Natomas Garden and Arts Center in Summer of 2019 and a specific project staff will be assigned to this project.

Our vision is a Center that is a place of inspiration and education offering lectures, classes and workshops to engage and enrich our community.

Much of our work will be focused on the grounds which surround the Center. The gardens of the Center will demonstrate modern, horticultural and environmental practices as well as serving as an outdoor classroom.

The Center would have a gallery to showcase works of art, both by local artists as well as visiting artists from all over the world.

The Center will be a dynamic, living example of how gardening and the arts enhance and impact a Community.
